Some tips for shopping and storing food:

1. Make room in your fridge before doing your shopping. This will help you to find enough space for food right away you are back home.

2. Do not buy more food than needed. The air has to be able to circulate between food items to maintain them at the right temperature.

3. Check the due–by or best–before date for all foods you purchase.

4. Keep raw foods separated from ready-to-eat foods, either in your shopping bags and refrigerator.

5. If you do not have a fridge with screen, buy one thermometer for your refrigerator and another one for your freezer and check their temperature (4°C in the refrigerator and -18°C in the freezer). Adjust temperature at the right value when is necessary.
